NEW INCENTIVES FOR BRANDT SPRINTCAR SPEEDWEEK
Official release: Sprintcar Speedweek
The five venues and management of Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek met in Victoria over the weekend (May 17-18) to look back on the previous summer’s tournament and to plan for some major new developments for the 2025/2026 season.
The day-long conference was spent reviewing many elements within the 2024/2025 series and analysing how improvements can be made where possible.
It was also agreed that the Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek Series was a huge positive for the venues and the Australian Sprintcar industry with a large kudos going to the teams that competed in the various rounds.
The addition of the new Tolmer Speedway for round two of the series certainly drew wholesale interest as did the battles between PRO contracted, semi PRO and casual teams entering the various rounds.
The big effort by the PRO Teams to help pre-promote the series during the November-December period in the lead up to Speedweek was a major boost for the series profile.
The signing of Brandt Australia as the naming rights partner was something that greatly benefited the series and the industry as a whole.
Looking back on the format, the prize-money and points fund, the live streaming, the TV coverage, the fan-interaction, the pit parties and the standard of competition meant all venues were delighted with the series and agreed that’s the foundation for increased improvement and growth in 2025/2026 and beyond.
To that end, one of the first major releases for the new season ahead is the return to $10,000 to win A-Mains within the five nights in seven days spectacular held across Murray Bridge, Tolmer, Borderline, Avalon and Premier Speedways.
“We revised the payout structure last year to embrace a more level distribution of money through the A-Mains,” Speedweek Manager Wade Aunger said.
“We spoke at length with a wide variety of teams ahead of the series to get their feedback on how we should pay out the feature races and it was basically unanimous that there needed to be an emphasis on dividends throughout the 24-car field. That’s why we went to an $8000 to win amount with $800 to start.”
The new payout structure will pay $10,000 to win each A-Main and will not decrease monies from the remaining twenty three positions or the B-Main amounts from last season.
“There is an ongoing focus to address the economic pressures on competing teams and we know we need to always do what we can to make it as viable as possible for them. With that in mind, we’re working hard to secure funding through sponsorship to look at potential increases down the track as well.”
More information on the 2025/2026 Brandt Sprintcar Speedweek will follow soon.
Expressions of interest from teams to compete will also be called shortly.
