KURTZ PRAISES TEAM EFFORT AFTER ACES’ PREMIERSHIP VICTORY
BELLE Vue skipper Brady Kurtz has paid tribute to the all-round team effort which saw the Aces crowed ROWE Motor Oil Premiership champions at the National Speedway Stadium on Friday.
Kurtz cemented his status as a modern-day club legend by leading the side to a third league title in five years, this one sealed on home territory as they got the better of Sheffield in the Grand Final.
It was a season which saw the Aces overcome a major injury setback along the way, with Jason Doyle proving the perfect replacement for Dan Bewley who was ruled out in mid-May after a crash in Denmark.
Kurtz said: “I think it’s been a massive effort from the whole club – from Lemo (Mark Lemon) to the fans, the team, the volunteers, the track staff, everyone has put a massive effort in to get this over the line.
“I’m super happy to be a part of it with a good bunch of guys, and it’s been a great season for us, and nice to win a trophy in our own stadium.
“We definitely had a bit of luck that Doyley was available, and he walked on in and filled Dan’s shoes perfectly.
“He was unbelievable at the end of the year, he did just as good a job as Dan, and he was a major part of this trophy.”

LUKE Killeen is targeting further improvement in 2027 after his team place at Oxford was confirmed.
The 21-year-old has been part of the club’s Cab Direct Championship set-up since 2023 and a positive campaign this year saw him increase his average to in excess of six.
Killeen was announced as a starter for next season along with skipper Sam Masters at the Cheetahs’ presentation night last Friday, ironically whilst he was racing for his top-flight club Sheffield in the Premiership Grand Final.
He said: “There’s no place I’d rather be. I feel I’ve made some progress this season and that’s all thanks to the club and the supporters, and also my sponsors because none of this would have been possible without them.”
