KEEPING CELEBRATIONS UNDER CONTROL
BELLE VUE skipper Brady Kurtz insists there will be no premature celebrations as the club stand on the brink of another ROWE Motor Oil Premiership title.
The Aces face rivals Sheffield in the second leg of the Grand Final on Friday (7.30pm), and they return to the National Speedway Stadium with a four-point advantage after winning at Owlerton earlier this week.
But Kurtz has pointed to the play-off drama which has taken place elsewhere in 2026 as proof that the job is nowhere near done yet.
He said: “The main thing is not to get carried away. We’re only four points up, and that can be gone in Heat 1.
“All over the world what we’ve seen in the play-offs this year is absolutely mental stuff going on, so we are far, far away from winning it yet.
“We need to turn up on Friday, mean business like we always do at home, and try and get this done.
“It’s been a long season and we’re at the pointy end now, and we all really wanted to get past Monday so we can look forward to the home leg which will be a bit nicer for us.”

SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey has vowed to redouble his efforts for success in 2027 after the controversial conclusion to this season’s Cab Direct Championship.
A Speedway Control Bureau statement this week ruled that regulation 012.1.11, which concerns ‘leaving the track’ on the inner edge, had been breached by Poole captain Zach Cook in the Super Heat decider.
However, the result was announced as a statement of fact, and it stands as declared, with Godfrey saying he is now keen to move on from the incident.
He said: “I can’t tell people what to think and many have their own opinion, especially since it was confirmed that the rule was breached in the Super Heat.
“But it’s time to put it to bed. I don’t hold a particular grudge against Poole Speedway and congratulations to them.
“I feel it’s time to move on. I don’t want the 2026 Ellie Rose Travel Scunthorpe Scorpions to just be remembered as ‘that team who were robbed of a league championship.’
“I’m so proud of this team. In terms of team spirit, this is the best team we’ve ever had. No-one fancied us and yet we reached the Grand Final of the Cab Direct Championship.
“I promised that if we didn’t win the league this season, that we would next year, and that’s what we are still planning to do.”

BUXTON have received an early winter boost with the news that main sponsors Ductair will continue their backing of the club next year.
The Bulls have just completed their first campaign back in the sport in the NDL, and were quick to announce they will compete once again in 2027.
Ductair had previously given their backing to Birmingham, especially at Development level, prior to the closure of Perry Barr last year, and they have since transferred their support to the Hi-Edge Raceway.
Buxton boss Laurence Rogers said: “I’m absolutely delighted that Chris and Sheila (Bowen) will be back as the main sponsors of the club with Ductair.
“We really appreciate what they do for the club, and to get confirmation so early really helps us with planning for next year. My fellow directors and I cannot thank them enough.”
