FIM SPEEDWAY: WOFFINDEN SUFFERS CRASH SETBACK
Triple Speedway GP World Champion Tai Woffinden insisted “diamonds only form when under pressure” after suffering another injury setback.
Woffinden crashed out in heat 10 of Polish club Ostrow’s Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga meeting with Rybnik on Sunday, May 24, with his bike catching fire – forcing a paramedic to rush in and pull him clear.
The luckless 35-year-old was taken to hospital for checks and confirmed another series of injuries – just months after making a comeback from the crash in Krosno that ended his 2025 season.
Posting on Facebook, Woffinden wrote: “Well yesterday was eventful. Only six broken ribs and left shoulder blade. Be back as soon as I can and continue to build on what I have been working on! What a sport, what a journey. Diamonds only form when under pressure!!”
Everyone involved in FIM Speedway wishes Tai a speedy recovery.
