The Bohud Racing team and their driver Michael Stewart had a solid 2024-25 season within their home state of NSW in the 410 Sprintcar division – and they have the Sydney International Speedway Track Championship and NSW Club Championship point standings wins to back that up.
The NS # 14 ARRMA Australia / Illawarra Truck Repairs & Spares supported Triple X pilot was by far the form driver of the season at the Bohud Racing team’s home track – Sydney International Speedway – off the back of six feature race wins, which was the most of any Sprintcar driver in the country at any one given track this season on their way to victory in the Sydney International Speedway Track Championship.
Apart from those six wins, Michael had scored three minor feature race podium finishes; however, they were unlucky not to add five more podiums, which included a few missed wins, to their tally had it not been for some misfortune. This success added to the NSW Club Championship win Michael and the team had secured over the Easter long weekend.
“To be able to come away with the Sydney Track Championship and the NSW Club Championship was a massive achievement for the whole Bohud Racing team and something that we are all very so proud of,” expressed the 29-year-old racer, whose 2024-25 season feature race winning tally at Sydney International Speedway and a main event win at his home track of Canberra’s ACT Speedway.
“It’s certainly been a very busy season with a total of 29 nights of racing completed, especially with a lot of those nights at Sydney International Speedway, but the whole Bohud Racing team never stopped working and it was very satisfying with not only seven feature race wins during the season but a couple of championships to cap what has been a wonderful season.”
Stewart continued on by saying that apart from being the form driver within their home state, he was proud of what he and the Bohud Racing team achieved out on the road when they travelled to various major interstate events.
“With it being only the third season for the Bohud Racing team in Sprintcar racing, it’s always challenging visiting new tracks and taking part in their major events, but the whole team just continues to work hard and keep learning along the way and it’s great to be able to reward them for their continued efforts,” he said.
“Winning the Adelaide 500 overall points and the $25,000 winner’s cheque that came with it was amazing, to be one of only two NSW- based drivers to make the Australian Championship feature race was pleasing especially after we had to fight back from an earlier crash the night before qualify into the feature race via the B main, and one of the highlights of the season for the whole team was without a doubt being able to share the podium with two of Australia’s best racers in Lachlan McHugh and James McFadden after we had ran third in the Red Hot Shootout at Toowoomba Speedway.”
Although it was a fantastic run this season, now that the off season is here, the Bohud Racing team will be working hard during the winter break in the lead up to the start of the 2025-26 season in September.
“I can’t thank Michael and the whole Bohud Racing team enough for all of their efforts throughout the season, and although we enjoyed a fair bit of success, no one in the team got too far ahead of ourselves and we just kept pushing hard to get better,” commented Bohud Racing team owner Scott Jones.
“During the off season, we will be making a number of upgrades, which includes the team’s transporter, as we continue our big climb up the Sprintcar ladder. With it only being our third season in Sprintcars, there is still so much to learn, and that’s quite exciting especially with a driver of Michael’s calibre behind the wheel of our race car.”
Stay tuned for announcements during the off season leading up to the commencement of the 2025-26 season.
