MADDINGTON TOYOTA SPRINTCAR SERIES:
MANDERS TAKES FIRST POINTS
Kaiden Manders has struck the first blow in the 2026-27 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.
He won the City of Kwinana Powerpalooza at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday night, October 24, from Daniel Harding and Kris Coyle in a race that was shortened from 30 to 20 laps because of a looming time curfew.
Manders, in the Dan Golding Racing 71, started from p5 after earlier in the night setting the Victory 1 Performance Quickest Time with a best lap of 13.035 seconds.
He won heat 2 after starting from p4 before crossing the line third in the Revolution Racegear A Dash.
Harding started on the outside of the front row after earlier being the quickest qualifier in his group, before winning his heat race and claiming the Revolution Racegear B Dash.
Coyle came from p4.
He was fourth in his qualifying group, and with the top four invert, started and finished first in heat 1 – and then was second in the B Dash.
The feature race was marred by a series of crashes – the first being on the first lap when Tom Callaghan and Jaydee Dack went over in turn two.
The next restart was after Andrew Priolo was spun around, in a similar spot.
Brad Maiolo came unstuck shortly afterwards and then there was a big crash at the end of the back straight after Manders made contact with Callum Williamson and Jason Kendrick, all battling for the same spot – with the latter two out of the contest.
On lap 13 Dayne Kingshott, who started from pole and was leading, slowed up with a cut down left rear tyre and damage to the rear end of the car – despite heading to the work area, the W2 was unable to rejoin the race.
Michael Keen was another to cut down a tyre late in the race.
Mikey Green was fourth, after starting from p16, from AJ Nash (out of p17), Jason Pryde (from 10), Taylor Milling in 7th in what was a big recovery after suffering early damage and returning to the field at the rear.
Jye Mckenzie, Andrew Priolo and Harrison Peet rounded out the top 10.
Round two of the series, the Electrical Group Training Westernapolis, will be contested at the Perth Motorplex next Saturday night, October 31.
