Brisbane’s Harry Stewart stole the show with a peerless performance when he won the 25-lap 410 Sprintcar feature race at Castrol Lismore Speedway Saturday night, November 16.
Stewart took off from the opposition right from the outset and never put a wheel out of place as he led Brodie Davis and Callum Walker to the chequered flag.
The 410s were supported with Sprintcar racing for the 360 LS division with their main event won by Kye Jensen from Tyler Burnham and Jacob Jolley.
Production Sedans and Compact Speedcars were also on the card in a variety programme watched by a good attendance.
On his way to victory in the 410 A-Main, Stewart, driving for Brisbane car owner Gary White, put down the fastest lap of the race when he stopped the timer at a blistering 11.011 seconds lap time.
At the start of the race Aaron Kelly and Kinser Claridge had a coming together and both cars were sidelined.
After a couple more attempts to get the race underway, when it finally settled down, Stewart, from position two, asserted his authority. Brodie Davis, who started out of position one, was in hot pursuit followed by Callum Walker.
This set the pattern of the race.
Henry Titman was having a good battle with Mitch Gowland further back in the field before Brett Hobson caused the next stoppage and Daniel Bridge also joined the upside down club a few laps later.
Stewart led away again as Dylan Menze retired to the infield. The remaining laps ran without incident to complete what was a spectacular main event.
The top ten were rounded out by Nathan Pronger, Henry Titman,Tony Bridge, Adam Butler, Mitch Gowland, Erin Vanderreyden and Mark Pholi.
Brodie Davis took out two of the four 410 Sprintcar heats, while Menz and Titman were the other heat winners.
Kye Jensen had a good night in the 360 LS division and set the scene earlier with a heat win (other heat winners Jolley, Tyler Burnham and Libby Ellis) as a lead up to his 20-lap main event victory. Burnham was runner-up in the main event and Jacob Jolley, who won the Wingless Sprint feature event, was third.
Other main event winners were: Madison Harkin (Production Sedans) and Andrew Parkes (Compact Speedcars), while Riley O’Connor won the Wingless B-Main.
