Twenty-one-year-old Polish speedster, Kacper Grzelak, has been signed to contest the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters at Gillman Speedway, on December 28.
By virtue of securing Kacper Grzelak, there is now an impressive six nations represented in the #ISM24, further underlining the event’s status as Australia’s biggest speedway motorcycle event this summer.
The Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, incorporating the Leigh Adams Medal on night two, features a stellar field of 500cc international solos stars representing, Australia, Denmark, America, Poland, Czech Republic and Great Britain.
Kacper Grzelak, who commenced his speedway career in 2017, is a graduate of TŻ Ostrovia, having ridden for his parent club, Motor Lublin, PSŻ-et Poznań and Örnarna Speedway in Sweden.
In 2023, Kacper was a part of the all-conquering Platinum Motor Lublin team which won the Polish Championship.
In 2022 Grzelak won a gold medal in the PGE Ekstraliga U24 competition with Arged Malesa Ostrówand. The same year he was a bronze medallist in the Polish Junior Team Championships and was a finalist in the Individual Junior European Championships.
“I’m delighted with how the Leigh Adams Medal field is coming together for night two”, said ISM24 organiser, David Tapp.
“The sidecar field on night one (December 27) is absolutely world class and the rider line-up for night two is incredibly impressive.
“To have six countries represented is fantastic and race fans will see an amazing event, featuring all the top Aussie boys against some very good foreign riders.
“With the exception of the now defunct FIM Australian GP, at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, this is the first speedway motorcycle meeting in Australia featuring six nations for more than two decades.
“I’d like to thank my Polish colleague and friend, Lukasz Malaka, one of the sports’ leading European journalists, for his assistance in bringing Kacper to Australia.”,” Tapp concluded.
Meanwhile, the event’s most recent addition, Poland’s Kacper Grzelak, says he’s thrilled to be taking part.
“I’m very happy that I have this opportunity to take part in the International Speedway Masters, Kacper said.
“I’m honoured to get the chance to race against the best Australian riders and all the other boys that are flying in for the event. For me this will be new experience and an opportunity to further develop as a rider and I can’t wait for last week of December”.
Grzenak will also ride at the Phil Crump Solo Classic at Olympic Park, Mildura, scheduled for December 29.
Poland’s, Kacper Grzelak, joins Jonas Jeppesen (DNK), Tom Brennan (GB), Jack Holder (NSW), Sam Masters (NSW) Jason Doyle (NSW), Chris Holder (NSW), Jan Kvech (Czech), Max Fricke (VIC), Sam Hagon (GB), Luke Becker (USA), Fraser Bowes (SA) and Jaimon Lidsey (VIC) as the riders announced so far.
