BRITISH SPEEDWAY: JANOWSKI LINES UP FOR PETER CRAVEN MEMORIAL
UP IN FORMER World No.3 Maciej Janowski has been added to the super-strong Peter Craven Memorial line-up at Belle Vue on March 18.
The Polish star, winner of 8 GPs in his career, is back in British racing for the first time in nearly a decade, and will make his debut for his new club Oxford in their season opener against Birmingham on March 14 before undertaking the big individual at the National Speedway Stadium.
Belle Vue CEO Mark Lemon said: “We’re very excited to have Magic joining us for our season opener. It’s another first for this meeting to have him as part of the line-up and he is world class and a well-respected competitor.
“Maciej will be wanting to put the past behind him as his last visit to Manchester, as part of the Poland’s Speedway of Nations team in 2021, ended in tears when jubilant GB went on to win the coveted prize.
“However, despite the outcome that day for Poland, he is entertainment personified and I can’t wait to see him roar around Manchester racetrack again.”

SCUNTHORPE have secured new title sponsors in the form of East Riding-based business Ellie Rose Travel.
The company operate a fleet of over 40 vehicles providing Home to School contracts for the local authority and directly with schools and colleges.
They take over from Joe Henderson who completed a near 20-year association with the Scorpions through various companies with their KO Cup victory in October.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Both (director) Shane and Mandy Houghton are very good friends not only of my wife Gail and myself, but also Scunthorpe Speedway as a whole. I’m sure many of our fans are aware of how much they help us and how often they are up the stadium.
“They’ve already given so much to our club and I’m delighted that they are our new sponsors. The Ellie Rose Travel Scunthorpe Scorpions has a very nice ring to it! We’re already the defending Knockout Cup champions and we’d love to win some silverware under the Ellie Rose Travel banner.
In any case, we’ll be out to have a good season and get their name out far and wide.
“It’s nice that they are a Hull-based company. I’d love to see Hull Speedway back – the supporters from there are so enthusiastic and we see supporters come from Hull to Scunthorpe every week and really get behind the Scorpions.”
