BRITISH SPEEDWAY: LAMBERT TO RIDE IN PETER CRAVEN MEMORIAL
(SPEEDWAY 1)
GRAND Prix star Robert Lambert has added his name to a high-class field being assembled by Belle Vue for the Peter Craven Memorial on March 18.
Lambert enjoyed a brief but successful stint with the Aces in 2022 when he stepped in for the injured Max Fricke and helped the club to their first top-flight title for nearly 30 years.
He joins fellow GP regulars Fredrik Lindgren, Jason Doyle and Dan Bewley in the line-up for the prestigious meeting at the National Speedway Stadium.
Aces CEO Mark Lemon said: “I think Robert became one of the fastest Belle Vue legends to be born after the club won our first Premiership title in 29 years, part thanks to his brilliant efforts.
“He has come very close to victory in this meeting in seasons gone by, and what a battle it was with Doyley last year when he finished second.
“We’re very excited about the field as it is coming together and we’re very close to putting the finishing touches to the line-up, and as it stands it really is anyone’s to lose.”

POOLE newcomer Tom Brennan says he can’t wait to get going at Wimborne Road – as he looks to help the Pirates reclaim the Cab Direct Championship title.
Brennan was one of the big movers of the winter having been part of the Glasgow team which raced to glory in last year’s Grand Final, ironically at the expense of the Dorset club.
The GB international recently impressed in action for the Rest of the World at Kern Raceway, California, and is now involved in pre-season training in Poland.
Brennan told poole-speedway.com: “Now I have had the time away racing in America I have blown the cobwebs away and felt what it is like to be back in the zone and soak up the atmosphere, and I am really looking forward to the season ahead.
“I am really excited about joining Poole and as I have said before, looking in from the outside, Poole has always seemed to be a very professionally run club and to have the chance to be part of it is something very special indeed.
“I am really honoured to be here after so many years of kind of racing behind them, and I am looking forward to it.”
