Daniel Pestka rewarded the Stark Racing Team for their season long toil with a well-deserved maiden Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series Championship at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool, saturday night, March 19, 2022.
Pestka’s 14th place finish in a bruising A-Main was enough to maintain his points lead on a night where the 2022 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Champion Lockie McHugh again set Sungold Stadium alight.
Quickest time in his qualifying group with a one lap pass of 10.410- only marginally outside the overall quickest qualifier of the night (Jamie Veal 10.396), then produced arguably the drive of the night in his heat to win from position six before leading for all bar two laps of the A-Main to record another A-Main win, this time at the wheel of Domain Ramsay’s V2 entry.
In the C & H Trucking Sprintcars Limited Series, it was Domain’s car again in Victory Lane, this time with Jack Lee at the wheel with ‘the General’ saluting from Scott Enderl and Travis Millar.
The exciting Street Stock Go Switch Go event, which sees drivers take on Sungold Stadium for 15 laps in a clockwise direction before a yellow flag flies and the final 15 laps are completed in an anti-clockwise direction saw the AX16 of Ricky Cornwell come from the tail to win in exciting fashion from Morris Ahearn and Steven Watts.
