MADDINGTON TOYOTA SPRINTCAR SERIES SEASON LAUNCH SET FOR OCTOBER 2

The 2026-27 season Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series (MTSS) will be officially launched at the Maddington Toyota showrooms, on Albany Highway, Maddington, this Friday night.
The social function officially kicks off what is shaping to be another big season of sprintcar racing in Western Australia.
The upcoming season will continue to build on very strong foundations that now makes the MTSS the leading speedway series in Australia – and one that is now making its mark on the world stage.
While it is only a Western Australian-based series, it continues to attract national and international support, both from drivers, crews and racefans.
Last season there were 24 nights of racing in WA, with 23 of those counting towards the overall Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series crown – this coming season is the same, with 23 rounds once again making up the championship.
There were 64 drivers who contested at least one round last year – this included 11 Americans, being the strongest field of Americans in WA ever, and the best of the best with Kyle Larson, Corey Day, Rico Abreu, Buddy Kofoid, Cole and Carson Macedo, Justin Whittall, Brock Zearfoss, Brad Sweet, Aaron Reutzel and Xavier Doney.
On top of that, the series had 15 more drivers from the eastern states who made their way to WA to be part of the series.
The average car count over those 23 rounds was 30.8.
Last season there were five country rounds – and the Sprintcar Entrants Group is pleased to have five rounds again this season – being run at Bunbury, Geraldton and Albany.
All the usual events are back, with High Limit International: Perth, on December 28-30, being one of many highlights.
When we add in the rest of the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek rounds, the Festival of Speed, other time-honoured events and the Maddington Toyota Five-Crown, it all adds up to being another big season.
The official part of Friday night’s launch will be livestreamed on the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series Facebook page.
The following day the drivers will gather for their annual Media Day commitments.
Round 1 of the series, the City of Kwinana Powerpalooza, kicks off at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday, October 24.
