Strong finishes in two of the biggest 410 Sprintcar events of the 2025-26 season in the form of the Grand Annual Classic and the Australian Championship saw Dayne Kingshott and the Krikke Motorsport team come away from their most recent east coast trip very satisfied.
In what was their second east coast trip of the season, Dayne and the team were amongst the podium contenders in the Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in Victoria before going on to finish in fourth, and then they backed up that performance the following weekend with a hard-charging sixth-place finish in the Australian Championship at Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway in South Australia. There was no question about it, Dayne certainly had to work hard to achieve what he did in those two events, after he had started the Grand Annual Classic deciding feature race from position 10 and then in what was a mixed Australian Championship weekend, he started from deep in the feature race field – position 16 – and went on to come home in strong fashion to finish in sixth.
“I’m really satisfied to come away with strong finishes in two of the biggest events of the season on the east coast,” commented the WA # 2 Mobil 1 / Bunbury Toyota supported Maxim driver.
“The whole Krikke Motorsport team worked very hard over this busy fortnight on the east coast taking on the biggest teams in Australia, and although I look back over this trip with happiness, it’s hard not to think what might have been had I started a bit further up in the feature race field order at both the Grand Annual Classic and the Australian Championship.”
Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke echoed his driver’s thoughts on their recently concluded east coast trip.
“It’s been a big fortnight and to pick up two strong results in the Grand Annual Classic and the Australian Championship is something I’m very proud of,” he said.
“I feel like we were competitive every time we hit the track over this past fortnight and that’s a testament to what Dayne, crew chief Matt (Cochrane) and rest of the team have been building. These tracks couldn’t be more different to the Perth Motorplex and Dayne’s exposure to these types of small tracks and high level of competition is minimal really, so I’m rapt with everything we achieved.”
With the east coast trip now concluded for Dayne and the team, their attention now turns to resumption of the Maddington Toyota Series, which Dayne currently holds down a strong point standings lead, with this Friday and Saturday night’s $40,077 to win Barbagallo Australian MR Sprintcar Nationals at the Perth Motorplex.
