What a comeback.

After finding himself upside down on Thursday, then going upside down again Friday, James McFadden somehow put all of that behind him and delivered when it mattered most.

JAMES McFADDEN IS YOUR 2026 TUSCARORA 50 CHAMPION! (Following his Saturday night, September 12 victory).

Driving the Macri Motorsports #39M, McFadden charged from 11th to 1st to capture the $59,000 Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway and etch his name into one of Pennsylvania Sprintcar racing’s most prestigious events.

And the story behind this win makes it even better.

McFadden wasn’t originally supposed to be the driver of the 39M. He stepped into the seat for Anthony Macri, who continues to recover from a broken collarbone suffered in a crash at Knoxville in August. Macri himself is a former Tuscarora 50 winner, taking the crown in 2022.

Now, McFadden has added another chapter to the Macri Motorsports story.

The Australian came into Saturday’s finale having already endured a wild weekend. Thursday night, (September 10) he was caught up in the chaos and finished 25th. Friday brought another difficult night, but McFadden kept coming back.

Then Saturday?… 11th to 1st. That’s not just a win. That’s a statement.

The Tuscarora 50 is one of the crown jewels of Pennsylvania sprint car racing, dating all the way back to 1968. Past winners include legends such as Doug Wolfgang, who won four consecutive Tuscarora 50s from 1984-87, along with more recent champions like Anthony Macri, Rico Abreu and Ryan Timms.

And now you can add: James McFadden.

After two nights that could have easily ended his weekend, J-Mac stayed in the fight, climbed into the 39M and drove his way from 11th to the front.

Upside down Thursday.

Upside down Friday.

WINNER ON SATURDAY.

That’s one heck of a Tuscarora 50 story.
