FIM SPEEDWAY: LINDGREN SET TO MISS SPEEDWAY GP IN PRAGUE
Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren has confirmed he will not be fit to race in the FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague on Saturday, May 23.
The 40-year-old suffered a fall in heat three of Polish club Lublin’s 46-44 loss away to Leszno on Sunday, May 17, running out of room as he battled Keynan Rew on the home straight.
Lindgren was taken to hospital for checks, and a statement released on his official social media accounts on Monday morning confirmed he will not line up at Marketa Stadium for round two of the Speedway GP season. His replacement is subject to FIM confirmation.
He is also set to miss Danish club Region Varde’s meeting at home to champions Slangerup on Wednesday evening.
A post on Lindgren’s Facebook page read: “In yesterday’s meeting in Poland, Fredrik was involved in a crash which means he must withdraw from the Danish league and the Prague GP this week.
“For any urgent cases, we ask you to contact Fredrik’s manager and wife Carolina Jonasdotter. Thank you for all your kind messages! We keep fighting!”
Everyone involved in FIM Speedway wishes Fredrik a speedy recovery.
