New Zealand’s Max Guilford has been one of the finds of the Australian 410 Sprintcar season so far, and for the month of February, he will join the Bohud Racing team.
As the return of regular driver Michael Stewart from injury is not too far away, the 24-year-old from Auckland will steer the NS # 14 Losi / Illawarra Truck Repairs & Spares supported Triple X car for the next four weekends of racing.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Bohud Racing team, as they have a top operation and I’m confident of us being able to do some good things together,” expressed Guilford.
“I’ve done a lot of racing so far this season in Australia, and I’m really excited about getting back to Sydney, as I had a strong run that saw me pick up a podium finish during my first visit there last month, and with the Bohud Racing team being very strong around there, I’m hoping we can come together and contend for wins.”
Bohud Racing’s team owner Scott Jones is excited about having Guilford joining them for this month’s racing, which will see them compete at Wagga Speedway on February 7, Western Sydney Speedway on February 14, Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway in Queensland on February 21 for the Ultimate Pink Night (TBC) and then back at Western Sydney Speedway on February 28.
“Max has been able to put in a number of impressive drives at major events here in Australia and he also came off a strong campaign over in America last year, so he has plenty of recent runs on the board,” he enthused.
“I’m confident Max is going to be able to hit the ground running with our team and we can provide him with a great car, and there is no reason we can’t be amongst the front running contenders straight away.”
