INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS: JACK MORRISON ADDED TO THE FIELD
VICTORIAN SPEEDSTER JACK MORRISON ADDED TO SOLO FIELD FOR IKON SUSPENSION INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY MASTERS
Twenty-six-year-old Victorian speedster Jack Morrison has been selected in the field to contest the Leigh Adams Medal, on night two (December 28), of the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, to be staged at Gillman Speedway Stadium.
Morrison, well known to speedway fans throughout Victoria, South Australia and South East Queensland, has been an ultra-consistent performer on the national stage for several seasons.
The newly crowned NSW Long Track Champion and current Victoria #2 has been a model of consistency in domestic racing, in recent seasons, recording a third-place finish in the South Australian Championship (2023) and consecutive top three placings in the Darcy Ward BRTS Championship at North Brisbane Speedway. He also won the Bathurst Masters in 2023.
Jack, born in Bendigo, lives in Axedale, a rural township on the McIvor Highway, immediately west of the Campaspe River, 20 km east of his birthplace.
Morrison’s speed and talent has caught the eye of several speedway icons, not least of which is the legendary Leigh Adams.
“Jack’s a real goer and very well presented,” said the ten-times Australian Champion.
Meantime, Jack Morrison says riding in the Ikon International Speedway Masters is the opportunity that he’s been working towards.
“I have been trying hard to get noticed and I’m absolutely rapt to have been given this opportunity,” he said.
“Given the event at Gillman is being live streamed to the world and will feature in twelve hours of TV coverage in Australia, I am really hoping I’ll get an opportunity to race overseas, so I can pursue a speedway career fulltime.
“My dream is to race professionally abroad and taking part in a high-profile meeting such as the #ISM24 may help me achieve my goals. I will be giving it everything I have got,” Jack concluded.
Only one rider berth remains in the field for the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, with Jack Morrison becoming the fifteenth rider confirmed.
The final rider announcement is imminent.
