PASSING OF SYDNEY SPEEDCAR STAR BRYAN CUNNEEN, 95
Sad news August 19 with the passing of former Sydney star and NSW Speedcar Champion Bryan Cunneen, 95.
Bryan was loved by all as one of the genuine dusty heroes of the sport. In recent years he has resided at Macksville on the New South Wales north coast.
The Vintage Speedcar Association of NSW issued the following statement:
“Apart from being a very successful Speedcar racer (making over 200 starts at Sydney Showground), Bryan put his skills to a wide range of interests which included flying Tiger Moth planes, sailing activities including three Sydney to Hobart races on his own yacht, and becoming a successful farmer on his property near Gulgong.
“Bryan was very highly regarded and respected as a true gentleman. The Vintage Speedcar Association of NSW offer very sincere condolences to Bryan’s family members and his friends. Farewell details will be posted once available. RIP Bryan Cunneen and thank you for the memories.”
