PESTKA BAKES UP A VICTORY AT AVALON SPEEDWAY!
Offical Release: Avalon Raceway:
The Easter Trail’s night one kicked off at the Place For Pace Avalon Raceway which hosted a full house of race fans, eager for Sprintcars & Super Rod action.
The Easter Trail, part of a three-day event dating back to the 1980’s, concluded at a family-friendly time of 9:15 pm, capped off with a dazzling fireworks show.
Domain Ramsay showed a promising performance at the outset, clinching the pole position by scoring maximum points in the heats. However, less than a quarter into the main event, the track conditions shifted, affecting his lead and turning his night from triumphant to challenging.
Daniel Pestka seized the lead amidst the action, with Brett Milburn, Jock Goodyer, and Tate Frost hot on his heels, each poised for a chance for the lead.
From the fifteenth starting position, Brock Hallett made a remarkable push through the field to secure a top-five finish, alongside clinching the $10,000 Avalon Raceway Track Championship for season 2023/24.
Despite one of only a few caution periods in the night , the top four contenders kept challenging each other up to the finish line. Pestka emerged victorious, with Milburn continuing his streak of podium finishes in second, and Goodyer rounding out the top three.
The Super Rods also took to the track, competing in the 3CS / Mixx FM Cup with keen Super Rod enthusiast & fellow commentator Garry Ross in the house representing the partnership Avalon Raceway & Mixx FM.
Jamie May edged out Jason Kavanagh in one of the tightest finishes since the memorable dead heat between Robbie Farr & Stephen Bell in 2012, winning by a mere 0.005 seconds. Michael Coad completed the podium in third place.
The teams are now gearing up for the second night of the Easter Trail at Borderline Speedway.
