BLUEY SCOTT PASSES AGED 93

It is my solemn duty to inform you of the sad passing of Eric Bluey Scott, on Monday 27th February 2023, aged 93 years.
Bluey passed away peacefully at Sandbrook Aged Care, at West Burleigh, QLD.
Bluey a modest gentleman, was a longstanding and supportive member of the VSRA / ASRA and a close friend to many.
He was a regular attendee to our Annual Reunion Dinners, until ill health curtailed his mobility.
One of Australia’s most accomplished riders, but he performed his best riding overseas.
He commenced his impressive Speedway Solo career in 1949/50 at Kilburn, South. Aust.
Retiring from Speedway in 1969. When in Australia he was a regular competitor at most OZZY tracks.
Bluey was also a regular test representive for Australia, Australasia, Scotland, Overseas, NSW, Victoria, Queensland.
He is synonymous with Scotland, having ridden for six years for Motherwell, and White City (Glasgow). He became a very popular rider in Scotland, and to-day still has a large fan base of followers.
In 1967-69 towards the end of his marvellous career, Bluey along Bob Sharp and Gordon Guasco, rode all over QLD, Brisbane, Ipswich, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Mackay, Rockhampton, Townsville, and Cairns. thrilling the crowds with what can be only described as some of the best racing seen in the northern state.
