GLASGOW will start the 2022 season with five riders who were part of last year’s set-up at Ashfield.
Craig Cook, Ulrich Ostergaard, Tom Brennan, Broc Nicol and Connor Bailey all lined up for the Tigers during a campaign which saw them go all the way to the Championship Grand Final before they suffered defeat to Poole.
And two members of the Pirates’ team in that decider have now made the switch to the Scottish club with Benjamin Basso and Danyon Hume heading north to complete the side.
Co-promoter Alan Dick said: “While rider continuity is always important, it’s good to refresh things will a couple of new faces, and in Benjamin and Danyon we’ve certainly done that.
“The average age of the team is down this year, with five riders barely out of their teens to back up the wily duo of Craig Cook and Ulrich Ostergaard.
“We think it’s a blend of youth and experience which can deliver the title for the club after so many near misses in recent times.”

BERWICK have added local man Kieran Douglas to their National Development League side for a second season with the Bullets.
Douglas averaged 4.18 last year and team boss Gary Flint is confident of further progress this season.
Flint said: “We are proud to welcome Kieran back to his local club for another season of NDL racing, and to say he has earned his team place would be an understatement.
“Kieran’s overall improvement as a speedway rider was there for all to see, and I can speak on behalf of the whole promotional team by saying that we were so impressed with his attitude on and off the track.
“Kieran will have his own goals for the upcoming campaign, and we would like him to continue enjoying his racing and to keep up those electric starts!
“It wasn’t that long ago that his career was threatened by a horrific back injury, and it was great to see Kieran establish himself at a very competitive level of racing last season.”
