BIRMINGHAM will officially enter the 2022 season under new ownership.
The Brummies’ takeover was sealed prior to Christmas with a new consortium led by local businessman Nigel Tolley purchasing the club from outgoing owners Peter and David Mason.
They have named four riders so far for the Championship campaign, and are also planning extensive track work at the Perry Barr circuit.
Co-promoter Laurence Rogers said: “Everybody knows by now we had a few issues with the track last year – but one of the consortium’s first jobs was to make sure we get that sorted.
“It’s going to be totally re-laid, we’re taking it right down to the base and starting again and we will have a super racetrack once again I’m sure.
“As for the team, we’re more than happy with the four riders we’ve got so far, it already has the spine of a very solid-looking team.”

LEICESTER have added 15-year-old Vinnie Foord to their National Development League line-up for the new season.
Foord joins the Lion Cubs after spells with Eastbourne and Kent last year having become eligible for league racing from July.
Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “In his first NDL opportunities in 2021, Vinnie showed what speed and talent he has.
“So with that year of experience behind him and the development and progress potential Vinnie has, he is a great addition to the Lion Cubs’ team in his second year of NDL racing on a 3.00 average.
“It will be exciting to see his progress in our colours as the season moves on.”
