TOOWOOMBA SCHULTZ SPECTACULAR FOR OCTOBER 23
Over 110 drivers have nominated across seven divisions for this weekend’s Schultz Sedan Spectacular at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway.
Headlining the show is an impressive field of 26 Super Sedans making a welcome return to the high banks for Round four of the McCosker Series. Series leader Sam Roza has had a very impressive start to the year and holds a narrow six point lead over home town hero Sean Black who is eager to impress after capturing the previous round win in Maryborough.
National Champion Darren Kane always performs well in Toowoomba and is among the nominations, so too former National Champion and current Queensland number one Matt Pascoe returning in his own car. Add in former National Champions Mick Nicola and Steve Jordan, along with a host of Queensland’s and New South Wales’ finest.
Modified Sedans return for Round two of the Steering & Suspension Warehouse Series and an excellent field of 25 drivers have nominated. Series leader Darran Lester, fresh from a win in Toowoomba two weeks ago, heads the nomination list. The field includes former state and National Modified Sedan Champions Aidan Raymont, Greg Worling, Brodie Boss, Shane Macdonald, Max Clarke and Rodney Pammenter. A welcome inclusion in the field is Victorian live wire Matt Nelson who has jumped at the chance now that border restrictions have eased, to be among the strong field of nominations.
Round two of the Immortal Rollcages Street Stock Series returns to Toowoomba and a field of 14 drivers from three states have nominated. With the Queensland Title set for Kingaroy the following weekend, a number of interstate drivers have taken the opportunity to get some laps this weekend. Victorian and current Street Stock Champion Matt Nelson leads the interstate brigade, that also includes husband and wife combo Shane and Felicity Roycroft and New South Welshman Chris Marino. Another husband and wife duo, David and Michelle Barbeler, will also line up in the Street Stock division this weekend.
Rounding out the epic programme is a great field of 10 Junior Sedans are set to contest round two of the Speedway Sedans Australia Toowoomba City Five Star Series. Series leader JJ Hamilton holds a 31 point advantage over Brodie Hollyman. The field is bolstered by New South Wales duo Zac Brims and Jacob Waller, with Toowoomba being represented by Em Whell and Bailey Payne.
Racing is set to commence at approximately 5pm.
