A total of $22,000!
That is what is on the line for the winner of the 2021-22 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.
The Sprintcar Entrants Group can confirm, thanks to increased support from naming rights sponsor Maddington Toyota, that the next series champion will bank $22,000 – in the 22nd running of Australia’s leading domestic sprintcar competition.
The increased payout for the winner has just been confirmed which is sure to get the attention of teams in WA, and even those beyond our state borders.
The series will kick off with the Shannons Powerpalooza at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday, October 23 – and will conclude with the Perth Motorplex Grand Final meeting on Saturday, April 16.
Unlike in previous seasons when the series ended early and was followed by the mini Triple Crown series that rounded out the competition, the series will run the entire season this year.
The good news is the Triple Crown will still be a mini-series at the end, being a series within the main series.
All the usual attractions of summer will be included such as the King of Wings, Speedweek, the Krikke Boys Race, the Legends Race, the Gold Cup and much more.
More will be released on these events, payouts, prizes on offer and attractions in the near future.
There will be a mid-season break when the Australian Sprintcar Championship is held at the Perth Motorplex on February 11-12, COVID-permitting.
This year the Joker is still included, however drivers will only have one of five nominated rounds to declare their hand at the start of the show – which will see them double their points in the feature race at the end of the show – more details will also be released on this in the very near future.
Unlike in previous years, the drivers will not be dropping their worst round they contest, which will simplify the point structure.
There will also not be a compulsory pre-season launch that has had championship points attached to it in previous years, however details will soon be released on the official launch for drivers, teams, sponsors and officials that will be held in the Maddington Toyota showrooms where everyone will be encouraged to attend.
There is plenty more to talk about for the upcoming season – stay tuned.
A comprehensive information pack is also nearing completion that will soon be distributed to all teams, outlining everything they will need to know for what is shaping up to be a big summer of Sprintcar racing here in WA.
