REDCAR fought back from eight points down to end Glasgow’s unbeaten record in a Championship thriller at the Media Prima Arena.
The Bears raced to 5-1s in the last two heats to complete a 47-43 victory, inspired by a 14+2 haul from skipper Charles Wright and 13+1 from fellow heat-leader Jake Allen.
Craig Cook scored 11 and Ulrich Ostergaard 10 for the Tigers despite missing out as a pair in Heat 15, and the visitors still took a league point from the narrow defeat.
Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “I’m gutted that we lost two 5-1s in the last two races – we certainly didn’t see that coming.
“Going down there we would probably have taken a point, but when you’re leading like we were after 10 or 12 heats you’re looking for a lot more than that.
“It’s not like us to lose two 5-1s in the last two heats. It’s fair enough that happening in Heat 15 – it’s your top riders and that can happen – but the result in 14 was a bit of a shocker.
“It is what it is, we can’t win them all. When you consider they had to use tactical substitutes both at our place and at home to peg us back, that’s a compliment to us.”

PETERBOROUGH host Wolverhampton in a televised clash between two of the Premiership’s early top three tonight (Monday).
The Panthers, who won twice last week, will leapfrog their opponents into second place with a home win at the East of England Arena – whilst Wolves have top spot in their sights if they can make it four wins out of five.
Visiting skipper Rory Schlein is still absent due to injury with the rider-replacement facility in operation, whilst youngster Leon Flint stands in at reserve following the retirement of Tom Bacon.
Panthers boss Rob Lyon said: “They are a strong side and Chris Van Straaten and Pete Adams know what they’re doing when assembling a team.
“They’ve been very astute in every department and I expect them to provide us with the ultimate test.
“In Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas they have a solid partnership and both can take a ride for Rory, as can the classy Sam Masters. They’ll cause us problems, but we have to have faith in our own ability to go out there and do the business.”
Stand-in Wolves skipper Masters said: “We’re going well at the moment but we need to keep it going.
“There’s no easy meeting but we’re working well as a team and everyone is getting on great together.
“Hopefully we can keep our form good and keep picking up those points as we go along.”

SCUNTHORPE No.1 Josh Auty has escaped serious injury following his heavy crash at Leicester on Saturday.
Auty tangled with Dan Thompson at high speed in Heat 11, suffering concussion and being taken to hospital with concerns over his neck.
However, checks have shown no serious damage and he will able to return following a mandatory nine-day absence.
Auty tweeted: “Had a CT scan and it’s come back all clear. Will be out of racing for nine days due to the concussion. Thank you for all your kind messages.”
