FIM SPEEDWAY: DEBUT MAX FOR DOYLE
Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon hailed Speedway GP star Jason Doyle after he raced to a 12-point maximum on his Aces debut as they thrashed Leicester 61-29 in the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership on Monday night.
Doyle, who lines up in Saturday’s DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw, raced to a perfect four rides after stepping into the side as a replacement for the injured Dan Bewley.
World number two Brady Kurtz collected 12 paid 13 points for the Aces, while German international Norick Blodorn added 10 paid 11. GB star Dan Thompson was Leicester’s top scorer on nine paid 10.
Lemon was delighted with Doyle’s impact. He said: “Jason had some pretty big boots to fill coming in for Dan, but he has done a great job. We know he’s a stalwart of British speedway, and he has proved it again.
“But it was a team effort by all the boys, and there were some really good signs from one through to seven, which is key.
“How can you not be happy with that performance? Bringing Jason in, he has just fitted in like a glove, and it’s just all systems go, and very professional.
“I felt a little bit sorry for Leicester – not too much – but obviously things just didn’t go for them, and sometimes you just have nights like that when things don’t happen. But more of the result was because our boys were really on song.”
Elsewhere, Czech charger Jan Kvech top-scored on 12 paid 14 points for King’s Lynn as they won 48-42 at home to Northampton. He was backed up by a 12-point haul from SGP star Max Fricke and 11 paid 12 from Ben Cook. Aussie racer Kye Thomson led the Foxes scoring on nine paid 10.
