KING’S LYNN KO CUP OPENER
KING’S Lynn host Ipswich in their home Knockout Cup opener (Monday night – GMT) with a potentially significant aggregate point on the line.
The Witches won 50-40 when the sides met at Foxhall last week, with the Stars now having home advantage and both sides will also race Northampton in the southern group.
Lynn boss Rob Lyon has switched his riding order from the away fixture with Paco Castagna and Ben Cook exchanging positions with the Italian now at No.2 and the Australian at No.4.
Ipswich are unchanged and will be looking for another impressive performance from Rising Star Jason Edwards on one of his former home tracks.
Lyon said: “I was encouraged by a few good things at Ipswich, and now we’ll see what we can do at home on Monday.
“Ipswich did deserve to win on Thursday, but I’m pretty confident we can pull it back. We have to aim for the aggregate point, and we’ll give it our best, 100 per cent, and hopefully that will be good enough.”
Edwards said: “It was nice having the first meeting at Ipswich. We have all got used to how the team works and now we can build on this. It’s not like we’re starting from fresh like King’s Lynn were last Thursday.
“It will be close at King’s Lynn, so to get the aggregate (point) we are going to have to work really hard.”
KING’S LYNN: Max Fricke, Paco Castagna, Chris Harris, Ben Cook, Jan Kvech, Cooper Rushen, Jody Scott.
IPSWICH: Tom Brennan, Danny King, Tobiasz Musielak, Scott Nicholls, Richard Lawson, Philip Hellstrom-Bangs, Jason Edwards.

BELLE Vue manager Mark Lemon is backing his young reserves to maintain their progress with the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership opener fast approaching.
The Aces host champions Ipswich in the first league fixture of 2026 on Monday April 20, and have been encouraged by early home displays from Tate Zischke and Rising Star Will Cairns.
Lemon said: “The improvement we’ve seen from Tate from last year to now has been significant, and the sport is tough.
“These are professional athletes trying to do a very brave job out there, and it’s not easy. They are putting the hard yards in and it’s dangerous too.
“Considering where Tate has come from, I think everyone is quite pleased. We love a trier, and it’s good to see him back amongst it.
“Young William is going to come on. He scored paid-five at home to Leicester, and I thought he rode incredibly well, and we forget he’s 16.”
