FIM SPEEDWAY: HOLDER TOPS EDWARD JANCARZ MEMORIAL PODIUM
Speedway GP star Jack Holder kicked off his Stal Gorzow career in fine style by winning the club’s Edward Jancarz Memorial meeting on Friday.
Holder dropped just two points across seven rides, with SGP rivals Dominik Kubera and Andzejs Lebedevs the only riders to lower his colours as he won the meeting named after one of Stal Gorzow’s greatest sons, who lends his name to the Edward Jancarz Stadium.
Despite finishing second to Lebedevs in his semi-final, Holder hit back when it mattered most by beating his new Gorzow teammate in the final, with Norwegian talent Mathias Pollestad third and home sensation Oskar Paluch in fourth place.
Returning Gorzow legend Bartosz Zmarzlik matched Holder’s 14-point total in the heats, but his night ended in semi-final two, when he finished third behind young guns Pollestad and Paluch.
World number two Brady Kurtz also reached the semi-finals, along with European champion Patryk Dudek and Piotr Pawlicki. SGP star Max Fricke missed the cut on eight, while Dominik Kubera fell short on six along with Pawel Przedpelski.
