MADDINGTON TOYOTA SPRINTCAR SERIES, MONDAY MARCH 2, 2026 MEDIA RELEASE: Defending and two-time series champion Dayne Kingshott claimed round 19 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series at Geraldton City Speedway on Sunday night, March 1.
He won the 30-lap final from South Australian Luke Dillon, with home-town hero Callum Williamson taking third.
Kingshott’s win was on the back of his fifth place in round 18 at the same venue, only 24 hours earlier.
He started the night off in the best possible fashion, setting the Victory 1 Performance Quick time, with his 13.098 in group two bettering that of Williamson’s 13.101 in session one.
From there Kingshott took a fourth in his heat race and then won the Revolution Racegear B Dash to start on the front row with Williamson who was also fourth in his heat race and won the Revolution Racegear A Dash.
The main event only got as far as the end of the main straight when Chad Pittard crashed hard in front of the venue’s main bar, putting him out of the show.
On lap five Jason Kendrick spun and hit Taylor Milling who went over and was also out of the show, while Kendrick was sent to the rear for his part.
Jack Williamson, who missed the previous round, rolled on lap 10, with officials calling an open red for more fuel.
After the race resumed Kendrick rolled in turns 1-2 and while it was gentle, it was enough to put him out of the show.
Dillon, who started from p5, made a move on Callum Williamson late to take second – another good result after he also claimed a second on the previous night.
Daniel Harding, who claimed the Saturday round, was fourth after starting from p3, while Jason Pryde, who started from p8, took fifth in what was an impressive weekend double for the driver of the JPM 14.
Kris Coyle, who started p4, was sixth, ahead of Ryan Farrell who went from 10th to seventh, Michael Keen who started seventh and finished eighth, Kodi Clayden who started 17th and finished ninth, Jaydee Dack who started 15th and finished 10th, Harrison Peet who started 13th and finished 11th and Bolger who started 16th and was the last car to finish, in 12th.
Round 20 of the series returns to the Perth Motorplex next Saturday night.
