PERTH MOTORPLEX: KINGSHOTT LIMPS TO VICTORY: KRIKKE BOYS SHOOTOUT OPENING NIGHT
Dayne Kingshott completed the first half of the Total Tools Rockingham Krikke Boys Shootout with a win at the Perth Motorplex on Friday night, February 13.
Driving the Krikke Motorsport W2, he was on the pace from the start of the show, being second quickest in his qualifying group, then took wins in his heat race and the Revolution Racegear A Dash, to start the main event from p1.
He took the victory from James McFadden and Jock Goodyer but conceded after the race the engine was having major issues, limping to the line.
Friday’s feature race only lasted a few seconds before Jake Robinson and Andrew Priolo came together on the main straight.
From there it ran non-stop for 23 laps before Matt Egel slowed up with major issues in the S52’s rear-end.
Kingshott, who led the whole way, set sail for home, with McFadden taking advantage of a stumble from Goodyer who conceded after the show that the A1 was running a bit warm.
The result was a better one for McFadden who withdrew from the midweek contest after major electrical issues plagued the Brady W23.
On Friday night he was second quickest in his qualifying group, third in his heat race and fourth in the Revolution Racegear B Dash to start the 30-lapper from p8.
Goodyear was quickest in his qualifying session and followed this up with a fourth in his heat race and a second in the A Dash, to start from p3.
Fourth went to Daniel Harding who started from p4, ahead of Mikey Green who started and finished fifth, Kaiden Manders who started seventh and finished sixth, Jason Kendrick who started 11th and finished seven, Aaron Reutzel who started 14th and finished eighth, Taylor Milling who started sixth and finished ninth and Justin Whittall who started 16th and finished 10th.
Kerry Madsen set the Victory 1 Performance Quick Time at the start of the show but unfortunately suffered a big crash when something appeared to break in heat three, putting him out for the rest of the show.
Friday night’s event was round 16 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series, with the final of the Krikke Boys Shootout on Saturday night being round 17.
