PERTH MOTORPLEX: $10,000 PAYDAY FOR OVERALL SPEEDWEEK WINNER
Two local drivers and three Americans are in the top five in WA Sprintcar Speedweek points, heading into the final two rounds, at the Perth Motorplex this Friday and Saturday nights.
Local, and defending Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series champion Dayne Kingshott, Krikke Motorsport W2, leads the Speedweek tally on 850 points after six of the eight rounds.
Second is American Cole Macedo in the HighLine Motorsport U40, on 834 points, while third is local driver Kaiden Manders in the Dan Golding Racing W71 on 804 points.
Americans Carson Macedo, J&S Racing U60, and Aaron Reutzel, Monte Motorsport U17, round out the top five with 802 and 776 points respectively.
The overall winner of Speedweek, which will be determined after Saturday night’s feature race, will receive $10,000 from a $30,000 prize purse that goes to the top 15 overall – thanks to $20,000 from Speedway Australia, $5000 from the Sprintcar Entrants Group and $5000 from the Perth Motorplex.
Second overall receives $5000, with $2500 to 3rd, $1500 to 4th, $1250 to 5th, $1200 to 6th, $1050 to 7th, $1000 each to 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th, and $750 each to 14th and 15th.
This weekend’s double header rounds, the Slinglift WA Speedweek finale, powered by Totally Workwear, are also rounds 12-13 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.
