FIM SPEEDWAY: SURGERY FOR BRITISH RACER BRENNAN AFTER CALIFORNIA CRASH
Great Britain racer Tom Brennan has undergone successful surgery in California after crashing during practice for the World Speedway Invitational at Industry Hills Speedway near Los Angeles on Saturday evening, October 25.
The two-time FIM Speedway of Nations World Champion, who helped British club Ipswich and Swedish club Vastervik to league titles this year, was set to end his season with an appearance at one of the USA’s biggest speedway events.
But disaster struck when he crashed out of practice. Posting on Facebook, Brennan’s team confirmed that he went under the knife in California and is now awaiting clearance to fly back to the UK, where he will continue his recovery.
The post read: “Thank you all for the kind messages regarding the injury and operation. Tom has successfully undergone surgery for a broken left tibia and fibula, and everything went as planned. All focus will now be on recovery over the winter period and preparing for 2026.
“Thank you to everyone at the track for all their help and support and also to the incredible medical team who have been very accommodating. We are now waiting on confirmation on when he can fly home and will keep you updated of his progress. Thank you.”
