DATES SET FOR KO CUP DECIDER
POOLE and Redcar have agreed dates for the MAXiCab Knockout Cup Final with both teams still battling for honours on three fronts.
The sides will meet in the first leg at the ECCO Arena this Sunday (6pm), a date which had originally been earmarked for their league play-off semi-final.
Cup honours will be decided in the second leg at Wimborne Road next Wednesday (October 8), with a new date for the league showdown at Redcar to be confirmed.
Poole promoter Dan Ford said: “This switch will allow us to complete the KO Cup competition within the next week, and we will be shortly be able to confirm the new date for the Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final.
“The way the line-ups for the Finals have materialised, all three will involve two of the same three clubs – ourselves, Redcar and Glasgow – which obviously makes it a logistical nightmare as we head into the last month of the season with no silverware yet decided.”

BELLE Vue star Dan Bewley and Ipswich’s Tom Brennan join forces with British Champion Robert Lambert for this week’s FIM Speedway of Nations in Poland.
Great Britain head to Torun as defending champions but they are seeking to win the top International team prize outside the UK for the first time in 41 years.
Their first task is to make it through Tuesday’s semi-final, where the opposition includes Bewley’s Belle Vue team-mate Norick Blodorn with Germany, and Wolverhampton legends Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell with Sweden.
Lambert said: “It’s going to be nice, being in Torun – a place where I have been racing for the last five seasons.
“Poland are going to be strong on home territory, but me and Dan know the Torun track pretty well and mostly go well there.
“We made history by getting the first gold in 32 years back in 2021 for GB. We have been rewriting the history books since then, so why not try and go one better and win one outside of the UK as well?”
