LOCAL CLASH TO OPEN SEASON
NEW Ipswich co-promoter Richard Coleman says he’s relishing the prospect of a local derby opener against rivals King’s Lynn.
The Mayfield takeover at Foxhall was finally completed last weekend and now with Premiership fixtures published for the coming season, expectation is high as the Witches defend the league title.
First, though, they face the Stars in KO Cup action with the Ipswich opener pencilled in for April 9, followed by the return in Norfolk four nights later.
Coleman said: “After months of uncertainty for the supporters, it is a pleasure to be able to publish the Premiership fixture list and give the fans some clarity as they plan their summer.
“I hear our clashes with King’s Lynn are always fiercely contested and we look forward to our opening night at Foxhall on April 9.
“We are delighted to welcome Northampton into a six-team league. We look forward to our first visit to Brafield for their opening night on April 30, and of course, their maiden trip to Foxhall a week earlier on April 23.”

LEICESTER have launched a GoFundMe effort after the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park was hit by vandalism this week.
The stadium was targeted on successive nights with significant damage caused just weeks before the start of the new season.
Track equipment and perimeter fencing have been badly damaged, and this leaves the club facing substantial and unexpected repair costs as well as a race against time to be ready for racing.
The GoFundMe is at https://gofund.me/f9a72c454 and the Lions would appreciate any support from the speedway community as they work to repair the stadium.

EDINBURGH have announced a title sponsorship deal with Ross Commercial Finance for their National Development League team this season.
The company are specialists in business, property and growth finance and they will be backing the Monarchs Academy in an arrangement which aligns with their own business ethos.
MD Emma Ross said: “We’re relatively new to speedway, but we’re genuinely excited to learn more about it, understand the culture and support the riders and fans.
“For us, it’s about more than having our name alongside a team. It’s about being part of the journey. The Academy represents development, ambition and building future talent, and that aligns perfectly with how we approach business.
“We’re really looking forward to learning more about the sport and supporting the riders as part of the team environment.
“We’re especially excited to see the inclusion of Anika Loftus. Supporting females across Scotland has always been something we’re deeply passionate about, whether that’s through business or through our work with women and girls in football.
“Seeing more female representation in motorsport and speedway is brilliant, and we’re proud to stand behind that progress.”
