BRITISH SPEEDWAY: JACK HOLDER’S FIRM SHEFFIELD COMMITMENT
Aussie champion Jack Holder admits he never considered a move away from Sheffield, despite the months of uncertainty the British Premiership faced this winter.

The Tigers were put up for sale along with the Ipswich Witches, leading to speculation that the Premiership and Championship would be forced to merge.
But Tigers’ owners, the Bates family, later confirmed they will continue to run the Yorkshire club, and Holder was promptly unveiled as one of their first signings for 2026.
With Holder, partner Jessica and their son Chase based in the UK during the European season, the 2025 Orlen Oil FIM Warsaw Speedway GP winner admits racing in the UK is ideal for him.
Reflecting on the uncertainty the league faced, he said: “I hadn’t really spoken to anyone about what was going on. I heard a few things that it was going to be one league and then two leagues.
“I spoke to Sheffield at the end of last season, and I was pretty happy to stay. But once I started to hear about all of these things, I wanted to try and find out what was going on because I might have had to rethink my plans. But it’s all good now. I am really looking forward to staying at Sheffield.
“What I have been doing over the last couple of years, Britain, Poland and the GPs, suits me well. It’s a good balance between family life and my job. There is no reason to change, and if I want to live in Britain, I have to race here. That’s the biggest thing.
“But Britain is good. My family can come and watch me sometimes, which is cool. You don’t want to burn yourself out, which some boys do. But I’m not too worried about what anyone else is doing. I am happy with my schedule, and it’ll show.”
