McHUGH WINS FIRST ROUND OF SPRINTCAR POWER TOUR IN FRONT OF SYDNEY PACKED HOUSE
Sprintcar Power Tour media release:

Lockie McHugh won the first round of the PWR TFH Sprintcar Power Tour at Western Sydney Speedway in front of one of the biggest crowds in the history of the venue, Saturday night, January 3.

An estimated 5000 people jammed into the track to see three USA drivers, three Kiwis and twenty five Aussies do battle to contest the 50th main event held at Western Sydney Speedway.
McHugh pocketed $10,000 for his trouble and virtually stole the lead from Californian Tim Kaeding coming off turn four to greet the chequers in nail-biting conclusion to an epic 30-lap feature race.
Trailing home McHugh and Kaeding was the always rapid Kiwi Max Guilford in third place, Daniel Sayre fourth, Grant Anderson fifth, Kinser Claridge sixth, Jessie Attard seventh, Ben Aktinson Jr eighth, Marcus Dumesny ninth and Luke Stirton tenth.
South Aussie Brendan Quinn was eleventh ahead of Parker Scott in twelfth, Daryn Pittman thirteenth, TJ Stutts fourteenth, Lachlan Caunt fifteenth, Alex Attard sixteenth, Lynton Jeffrey seventeenth, Ashton Mineeff eighteenth and Luke Thomas the last car running in nineteenth.
Jock Goodyer suffered a left rear tyre going flat after contact whilst lapping cars when he was in the lead at the time.
Jy Corbet cut down a right rear tyre, New Zealander Travis Buckley had a mechanical DNF and Kobi Wright crashed on lap one of the feature race in an incident with Marcus Dumesny.
