FIM SPEEDWAY: DUDEK SEES OFF ZMARZLIK, CLAIMS POLISH TITLE  CROWN

Former world number two Patryk Dudek ended his nine-year wait for a second Polish Championship after seeing off a sensational Bartosz Zmarzlik challenge to claim the crown in Czestochowa.

Five-time Speedway GP world champion Zmarzlik zoomed to an 18-point, six-ride maximum to win the third round of the series. 

But it was still not enough to deny Dudek as second spot on the night and 15 points secured his first Polish title since 2016 after he finished on 47 points overall with Zmarzlik falling just three short on 44.

Despite missing out on final qualification after finishing fourth in the last-chance race, 10 points was enough for FIM SGP Challenge winner Dominik Kubera to bag the bronze medal on 38.

Zmarzlik and Dudek were joined in the round-three final by 2026 Speedway GP qualifier Kacper Woryna, who won the last-chance race, before finishing third in the meeting, claiming fourth place in the championship on 33.

Should Dudek remain top of the Speedway European Championship standings and also claim continental gold, it will mean all of this year’s Polish Championship top four will compete in Speedway GP next year.

Former SGP2 bronze medallist Bartlomiej Kowalski, second in the last-chance race to complete the final line-up, finished fourth on the night. He was eighth in the championship.

SGP2 champion Wiktor Przyjemski finished third in the last-chance race after collecting 11 points in the heats. He was placed fifth in the overall championship standings – finishing on 33.
