JENKINS SIDELINED WITH KNEE INJURY
JORDAN Jenkins faces a period on the sidelines with a knee injury after crashing out of Ipswich’s defeat at Belle Vue last Monday.
The Witches’ Rising Star will miss the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership trip to Oxford on Monday having suffered MCL damage to his left knee, with the full extent being assessed.
Ipswich manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “I had a good chat with Jordan and hopefully it is not too serious, but he needs more tests before he can know the full extent of the damage and then there will be a recovery process.
“It is a big loss because Rising Stars are really difficult to replace, and he is probably the best Rising Star.”

BEN Barker is set for time out having undergone emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
The recent Birmingham signing hit the back straight fence in Heat 6 of the Brummies’ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership match at Sheffield on Thursday, remarkably staying on his machine to complete the race.
However, having finished the meeting in severe discomfort, the scale of the problem then became evident.
A statement on his Facebook page said: “He would call 111 once he returned home and was told to go straight to A&E, which he did, and was informed he would need to have his appendix removed.
“He had successful surgery this (Friday) afternoon and is now in recovery.
“He will now be off the bike for a while whilst he recovers and in typical Ben fashion is determined to do everything he can to be back fighting fit ASAP.”

BERWICK will be chasing Edinburgh’s top four place when the sides meet in the Cab Direct Championship at Shielfield Park tonight (Saturday).
The Monarchs currently occupy a play-off position despite recent postponements at home, whilst the Bandits are only one point behind after winning both home matches so far.
Friday’s derby clash at Armadale was called off but there is a better forecast in the Borders for a meeting which was recently brought forward in the schedule.
Both sides have named full-strength line-ups, and Berwick will be hoping Drew Kemp and Sam Hagon can bring their midweek Premiership form to bear as the Bandits bid to maintain their 100 per cent home league record.
Kemp scored 10+2 in Leicester’s win over King’s Lynn, whilst Hagon notched a best-yet 8+1 for Birmingham at Sheffield.
Berwick won an early-season BSN Series clash with Edinburgh by four points, but the Monarchs were missing big-scoring Swede Victor Palovaara, captain Paco Castagna and Jonatan Grahn on that occasion.
BERWICK: Craig Cook, Sam Hagon, Danyon Hume, Drew Kemp, Peter Kildemand, Dayle Wood, Jack Smith.
EDINBURGH: Victor Palovaara, Kye Thomson, Justin Sedgmen, Paco Castagna, Michael Palm Toft, Jonatan Grahn, Jordy Loftus.

SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey says an away win at Plymouth tonight (Saturday) is a clear target for his side.
The Scorpions are playing catch-up in the Cab Direct Championship after dropping three points at home already, and they will look to regain ground when they visit the Coliseum.
The visitors name a full-strength side in Devon whilst the Gladiators give a debut to new signing Daniel Klima, but they are missing Nicolai Klindt (racing in Poland) and Ben Barker (appendix operation).
Godfrey said: “Plymouth is an important away fixture for the Ellie Rose Scorpions. We’ve dropped three points at home to Glasgow and Oxford and we need to make up for that sooner rather than later and recover the lost ground, if we’re serious about finishing in the top four and reaching the play-offs.
“We’re going to the Plymouth Coliseum with a mindset that it’s a meeting that we have to win, ahead of hosting the Gladiators at our own Eddie Wright Raceway next Friday.”
PLYMOUTH: TBC, Alfie Bowtell, TBC, Joe Thompson, Lasse Fredriksen, Mitchell Cluff, Daniel Klima.
SCUNTHORPE: Steve Worrall, Simon Lambert, Declan Kennedy, Connor Mountain, Jake Allen, Luke Harrison, Zaine
Kennedy.

BRITISH riders Dan Thompson and Jake Mulford had a tough night in the opening round of the SGP2 (World Under-21) series in Malilla.
They finished in 11th and 16th place respectively with Thompson missing out on a place in the Last Chance Qualifiers on countback after scoring six points.
Current SGP2 Champion Wiktor Przyjemski continued where he left off in 2024 by winning Round 1, whilst Denmark’s William Drejer claimed second ahead of Poland’s Kevin Malkiewicz and Nazar Parnitskyi of Ukraine.
GB Under-21 boss Neil Vatcher said: “Dan had an eventful meeting and found it hard to find the right set-up with new equipment on a track he was riding for the first time.
“Jake, again on his first visit to the Malilla circuit, struggled for speed all night and up against the world best Under 21 riders it was always going to be a difficult evening, and like Dan he was chasing the right set-up.”
Round 2 of the series takes place at Riga in Latvia early next month.
